Hannah Ludnow, founder of Columbia Road Gallery, has spent 20 years nurturing a space for contemporary art while continuing to create her own evocative works. Her practice has evolved from seascapes into powerful abstract paintings that explore memory, landscape and connection.
Her Resonate series captures soft reflections and glimpses of the past, building layers of oil paint over months to create canvases rich in depth, history and calm. The Connection series distills her work further into line, shape and colour, producing painted sculptures that embody balance, structure and tranquility. Her latest Lino Cuts continue this exploration, inspired by cartography and the meeting of natural and geometric forms. Printed on paper up to 200 years old, each piece is rearranged, collaged and reimagined to evoke unity and harmony.
