Jane Human – Biography
“I’m a London based painter and printmaker, whose primary focus is the exploration of a sense of place through representation of landscape. My subject matter is frequently vast coastal tracts and marshes the juxtaposition of water, sky and land. I seek to convey an experience of space and light and a particular atmosphere and time, which is interpreted through colour, mark-making and the formal concerns of composition. I also prefer to work in series allowing for a gradual distillation of ideas about a place, and the unfolding of a kind of narrative. My point of view can be more, or less figurative as seems appropriate to the idea”
