Georgina Hounsome

“I completed my MA (MA Illustration – Authorial Practice – Falmouth) in September 2009, gaining a distinction. The course helped me focus on initiating and directing my own projects in order to develop and realise my potential within image making. I work with a wide range of materials but mainly drawing and printmaking. My personal practice is primarily concerned with the ability of images to transport us.
I intend for my work to engage the viewer with an awareness of time, place, story or memory yet retain a sense of ambiguity, allowing them to discover a personal narrative. I hope that the work subsequently contains an intrinsic poetic quality that serves to engage the viewer emotionally.

During the past year I have focused on collaborative illustrated narrative projects with a fellow practitioner – Alex Higlett. During this time we have self-published two books – ‘Rose’ and “Mr & Mrs Gren’  and have been invited to engage in a similar project in Berlin next year. ”
